For those of you who missed it, here’s the clip of Matthew on MSNBC discussing the 1 MILLION JOBS campaign. Check it out, sign the petition, and share the video with your friends! www.ourtime.org/createjobsonmsnbc
Love it: “NYC: Tolerant of your beliefs. Judgmental of your shoes.”
Politics is frequently, and sadly, the opposite…. No one cares about your shoes. But your beliefs will be criticized.
Thanks to my mom for reminding me of how much I love these Manhattan Mini Storage billboards, and how they capture some very true and not always very comfortable realities about my beloved hometown.
My favorite quote:
“we need to focus on reforming the training grounds. Unless universities re-examine their role in enabling Wall Street’s recruiting dominance, the next generation will be just like mine — primed for success, but lacking purpose. And unless our policy makers provide incentives to students to pursue more productive careers, Wall Street’s cachet will continue to highlight one of society’s ills: we charge heftily for an education, and then foolishly expect the educated to use their diplomas for the benefit of society.”
Haha!
We have set an aggressive goal of standing
ONE MILLION STRONG for ONE MILLION JOBS.This May, as over 4.5 million Americans graduate from high school and college, they will enter a world with record unemployment. It’s time to speak out – sign our petition telling the presidential candidates to support a measure creating one million youth service jobs in areas of national need such as nursing, teaching, technology, green jobs and more! With one million of our voices united, we will be too loud to ignore.
From the Washington Post:
Karen Reinhardt, a talent development executive with Lockheed Martin, noted that millennials want to be empowered.
“Millennials want a little bit of guidance, along with opportunities to express themselves and to be innovative. I’ve managed millennials on teams at Lockheed Martin and am consistently impressed with how talented, creative and resourceful they are. If you give them opportunities to share their insights, they can really come up with ideas that others may not have even considered.”
Experts often refer to this as reverse mentoring — using millennials to share some of their skills with their older mentors.
We just heard that 50% of recent college graduates are unemployed or underemployed! LIKE and SHARE this link if you agree that this statistic is shocking!!!

Jon Huntsman Trashes GOP, Expresses Campaign Regrets

Huntsman, the former Utah governor and once President Barack Obama’s Ambassador to China, expressed disappointment that the Republican Party disinvited him from a Florida fundraiser in March after he publicly called for a third party. “This is what they do in China on party matters if you talk off script,” he said.

This graduation season millions of high school and college students will face a lousy job market with record unemployment. But, instead of feeling helpless, there is something you can do about it right now and it only takes a few seconds.
Will you sign the petition to create one million jobs?
OUR TIME believes that we can do more when we unite to make our voices heard. Because of this, we are organizing an online petition telling the presidential candidates to support a measure creating one million service positions in areas of national need such as nursing, teaching, technology, environment, poverty and more!
Our goal is to stand one million strong for one million jobs. And we have set an aggressive deadline to get 100,000 signatures by the end of April.
All you have to do is add your name before the deadline.
So, my question is - are you in?
It’s that simple: even the presidential candidates can’t ignore the voices of one million Americans saying they are ready to work. So please build the movement and add your name.
